INCLUSION AND DISABILITY FUND
The University of Padua promotes an inclusive culture, valuing the heterogeneity and strengths of each person.
In today's context, diversity tends to be, unfortunately, still underrepresented in Italian university contexts. According to recent data from the Mur (Ministry of University and Research), students with disabilities and Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs) who enrol at university are a very small percentage compared to those who have attended secondary school.
In order to encourage university education and the construction of a quality future, the University has chosen to make available diversified resources and services that enable all students, each with their own diversity and uniqueness, to participate fully and as independently as possible in university life.
The main services offered include
- Study and classroom attendance support
- Technological aids
- Accompaniment and transport
- Barrier-free classrooms
- Tutoring for job placement
Thanks to the constant commitment to building a system of customised support for each stage of the university career - from admission tests to entry into the world of work - the number of students with disabilities and DSA who choose the University of Padua has been steadily increasing for years, now reaching 1816 enrolled students. The number of graduates has also grown, from 188 to 200 in the last three years.
Supporting the Inclusion and Disability Fund will make it possible to continue to guarantee free and quality services for students with disabilities or SLDs and to further improve and expand the services offered by the University, so as to make the university experience more complete and effective, leaving no one behind.
